Our favourite local bookstores are offering free delivery
We’re all looking for ways to keep ourselves occupied at home, what better way to entertain yourself than curling up with a good book or picking up a new cook book (we see you baking your eighth loaf of banana bread, it’s time to mix it up – we recommend grabbing a copy of Ostro, by Julia Busuttil Nishimura!).
Reading has so many proven mental health benefits and let’s face it, it’s time to stand up and say ‘no, Netflix, we’re not still here’.
Here are some of our favourite local bookstores who may have had to shut their doors, but are offering (mostly free) delivery:
Happy Valley, Collingwood: Happy Valley is personally curated by owner Chris Crouch, who has previously owned Polyester Records (shop), Candle Records (label) and The Tramway Hotel (pub in North Fitzroy). The stock a wonderful range of art prints, a great selection of books, new vinyl records and cool designs. They are currently having a sale on hundreds of books, vinyl and gifts and are offering free delivery with purchases over $100.

Readings, Carlton and Hawthorn: A cornerstone of the Australian literary landscape, Readings is an independent retailer of books, music and film. They are offering a $5 flat rate for delivery within Australia, and orders of $60 will receive free delivery.
