Nelson Alexander Foundation Day 2020
Nelson Alexander’s Charitable Foundation was formed in 2005 and has been our way to give back to our communities; the communities we call home. However, right across Australia there are many communities that have been severely affected by this year’s bushfires, and we, like the rest of the world, feel for those impacted by this devastation.
Like many individuals and businesses, we’ve already made a donation to assist in the immediate rebuilding of these communities, specifically to the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund. However, we understand the recovery from these bushfires will be on-going and our support will not stop with this contribution.
We’ve made the decision that this year, all funds raised from our major annual fundraiser, Foundation Day; which would normally be distributed to local groups operating within our business footprint, will instead be donated to organisations working within the Victorian communities directly affected by the bushfires.
What is Foundation Day? It’s the day that each of our offices donates the professional fee from one of their auctions, and while normally held in the middle of the year, has been brought forward to the 29th of February 2020 to ensure we get much needed funds into these communities as soon as possible to support them in their continued renewal.
This year’s Foundation Day will directly support the following organisations: Need for Feed, Into Our Hands Community Foundation, Wildlife Victoria, Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal, The Country Women’s Association , Men’s Sheds – Orbost, Corryong, Mallacoota and Myrtleford.
