16 km north-west from Melbourne’s central business district, Keilor East is bounded in the west by the Maribyrnong River.
Keilor East is serviced by Milleara Shopping Centre, as well as the small Centreway Shopping Centre and Dinah Parade shopping strip. Centreway Shopping Centre’s claim to fame is that it was the original home of JB HI-FI founded by John Barbuto.
Keilor East is well serviced by five bus routes and is located in close proximity to Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport. Catering to all manner of sports, Keilor East is home to the East Keilor Leisure Centre, St Peters Parish Tennis Club and East Keilor Tennis Club. The suburb also hosts a campus of Penleigh & Essendon Grammar.
