Collingwood
With a character all of its own, Collingwood – one of Melbourne’s oldest suburbs – is located 3 km north-east of the CBD. Close to the action, Collingwood also has plenty of attractions of its own.
There’s terrific shopping (including factory outlets) in Smith Street and environs where there’s also a thriving arts and crafts community. Former workers’ cottages (single and double-storey) remain and are highly sought by purchasers today. Older warehouses and factories have been converted into fashionable apartments and many modern townhouses have been built along with medium density unit developments. Singles, couples and young professionals love this terrific inner-city location.
