Bundoora
16 km north of Melbourne’s Central Business District, leafy Bundoora is a hub for parklands, recreation and education.
The word Bundoora is derived from “Kelbundoora”, the name of a 19th-century Wurundjeri tribesman. Bundoora is the headquarters of La Trobe University, Bundoora Campus as well as Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).
The suburb is also home to the Bundoora homestead built in 1899, the homestead is a magnificent Queen Anne style Federation mansion operating as a historic house, art gallery and cafe, registered by Heritage Victoria and certified by the National Trust.
The Western Ring Road Trail and Darebin Creek Trail provide facilities for recreational and commuting cyclists.
