Bulleen
Bulleen is a suburb of Melbourne, located 12 km north-east of the Central Business District.
Bulleen Plaza is the main shopping complex, located on Manningham Road. It includes a library, post office, medical centre, business centre, a Coles Supermarket and various specialty shops and cafes. Many of these stores are owned and operated by the Italian and Greek Communities. Bulleen is home to many educational institutes, including the private schools Carey and Trinity. Public transport in Bulleen is limited to bus services, many of them running to the CBD via dedicated bus lanes on the Eastern Freeway and Hoddle Street. On Bulleen’s northern border is the Yarra River, which adjoins parklands, including Banksia Park with its bike paths and picnic facilities. Adjacent to Banksia Park is the Heide Museum of Modern Art. Other important reserves include Bulleen Park sporting grounds, Yarraleen and Morris Williams reserves, which offer adventure playgrounds and general open space.
