Brunswick
One of Melbourne’s oldest suburbs, multi-cultural Brunswick has a rich history. With its beginnings as an industrial area, this inner-city suburb is today home to those wanting a happening location close to the City (5 km north of the CBD).
A growing proportion of younger people are moving into Brunswick. Because of affordable rents and the close proximity to Melbourne Uni and RMIT University (which has a small campus in Brunswick), a substantial group of tertiary students choose to reside in the suburb. Townhouses and units are a growing trend with the young professionals, yet there are still plenty of classic period homes. You’ll find great shopping (loads of specialty shops) and great eateries here.
